Acupuncture or dry needling is the insertion of very thin, solid needles into specific area of the body. It is not an injection - hence the term 'dry' needling. It has been used for over 3000 years with increased use in Western medicine over the past 40 years mainly due to increase in scientific evidence to support its use

Acupuncture stimulates the body to produce its own stress reliving chemical call Endorphins and Oxytocin. These are the bodies ‘feel good’ Chemicals. Acupuncture also promotes the release of Melatonin which can enhance a person’s sleep. Acupuncture also stimulates nerve fibres to block pain signals which will help reduce the sensitivity
