Here’s why we stand out:
Corticosteroid is a powerful and fast acting anti-inflammatory that can give a window of opportunity to return normal function. They should not be used as a standalone treatment but can be helpful to reduce pain and allow a person to commence rehabilitation. They can provide fast acting pain relief for many conditions such as Joint Arthritis, Shoulder or Hip Bursitis, Frozen Shoulder, trigger finger and more. At Stafford physio we are able to assess your condition and advise if a steroid injection is the correct treatment for you.
These Hyaluronic acid injections also known as Viscosupplementation injections are made from Hyaluronic acid and can provide long lasting pain relief for up to 6-12 months. At Stafford physio we can assess your condition to see if you are suitable for a Hyaluronic acid Ostenil injection. There is some limited evidence to suggest that Hyaluronic acid injections can aid nutrition to the joint and aid cartilage regeneration - see the link below for more information on Hyaluronic acid injections.

Durolane is also a Hyaluronic acid based injection and can provide long lasting pain relief for up to 6-12 months. At Stafford physio we can assess your condition to see if you are suitable for a Hyaluronic acid Durolane - this is similar to Ostenil but is slightly more expensive.
Cortisone Steroid joint injections are powerful anti-inflammatory, prescription only medication. Steroid joint injections are fast acting with pain relief after a few days to a week. however, the length of benefit can be short lived compared to Hyaluronic acid injections.
When injected for the right condition at the right time, pain can be reduced or removed for up to 3 months and in some instances for much longer. Conditions such as trigger finger can be cured forever with a single injection.
It is important to have the correct rehab following a steroid joint injection, Stafford Physio will ensure this happens after your joint injection.
Please book an initial joint injection assessment with Stafford Physio to discuss suitability of having a steroid injection.

OSTENIL® which is a type of Hyaluronic acid is a treatment for the symptoms of osteoarthritis. Hyaluronic acid injections can be used in the knee, or in any of the other joints in the body that are classified as 'synovial'. Hyaluronic acid has been proven in clinical trials to be a safe and effective treatment, but not available on the NHS. The main reason for this is cost. The NHS suggest that the cost benefits do not outweigh the benefits to the patient. Hyaluronic acid injections have been used successfully for many patients and have enabled patients to avoid surgery. Hyaluronic acid injections are an option for you to consider if you have knee osteoarthritis but not ready for surgery.
